The imm cologne will open its doors from January 18 to 24, 2021 – its organisers have made that clear. According to Koelnmesse, 70 percent of the floor space has already been booked. "Under the current conditions, we think these numbers are really very good," says Matthias Pollmann, Vice President Trade Fair Management, who spoke of a growing interest in holding non-virtual fairs: "We want to boldly take the path to the new normality together with the industry." To ensure the safety of exhibitors and visitors, Koelnmesse has developed a comprehensive hygiene concept and coordinated it with the authorities.
"Of course, the number of visitors will depend on the situation in air travel, rail and public transport, and the extent to which travel restrictions are lifted. However, despite the current travel restrictions, we can already reach around 90 percent of our trade visitors," says Pollmann. The German furniture industry in particular, whose export business is largely geared towards European customers, can count on to a high attendance rate. In 2021, imm Cologne will once again be held as part of a trade-fair duo with Living Kitchen.
