After an extraordinarily weak first quarter of 2020 with a growth rate of only 1.5 %, German online trade picked up again strongly in the second quarter. According to the industry association BEVH, total sales from April to June amounted to EUR 20.2 billion, 16.5 % more than in the same period last year.
At +18.7 %, the "Furnishing" product group cluster (furniture/lamps/decoration, home textiles, household goods/appliances) even grew better than the average for online trade.
