Dorotheum, Vienna: Auction "Oriental Carpets, Textiles and Tapestries" on October 21st, 2020



The upcoming auction "Oriental Carpets, Textiles and Tapestries" on October 21st, 2020 at the Dorotheum in Vienna offers more than 240 lots. On sale will be the well-known mixture of decorative knotted carpets and collectable carpets and textiles. Also on sale this time: tapestries from France or the Netherlands of the 17th and 18th centuries.

Some of the highlights include a Lakai suzani from the first half of the 19th century, a Lori Pambak with four - instead of the usual three - central medallions and an East Turkestan Kashgar in silk in perfect condition from the middle of the 19th century.A special attraction of this auction is a small but fine collection of small Tibetan rugs, including a throne carpet with dragon depictions from the 19th century and a tiger tsutruk from around 1900.
